Glider Release Page 3

Intro Previous Next

The glider is mounted on the plane. Notice the wing supports to on each side of the glider. These are cut to snugly fit the leading edge of the wing. They keep the glider level with respect to the plane's wing.

This particular glider uses the elevator servo to release. When the elevator is pulled all the way back (full up), the glider loops off the plane. This enabled us to use the release system without adding an extra servo. We launch other gliders off this platform that have a third servo dedicated to the release mechanism. The third servo is nicer, as the glider flies straight off instead of looping off.
