- Purpose: To further the sport of radio controlled model aviation in the surrounding community by giving aid and assistance to persons expressing an interest in the area of model aviation.
- Objective: To provide sufficient organization to insure safety of persons and property and compliance with the requirements of all governing bodies involved with the operation of this club and its flying site.
- Requirements for Membership:
- Must read, understand, and abide by the By-Laws and Safety Rules of this club.
- Membership will be limited to 65 adult members, with no limits on sponsored junior membership.
- Members must hold a current membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (A.M.A.).
- Membership dues are collected in the month of June and cover a yearly membership year running from June 1 to May 31. Initial club membership fee is $90.00 ($50.00 initiation + $40.00 1st year dues) for adults. Membership renewal is $40.00 per year thereafter. In keeping with our charter, we promote young people into the hobby through a special membership rate of $5.00 per year when sponsored by an adult member. This junior membership is open to all flyers under the age of 16.
- Membership dues are payable in the month of June. Late dues are subject to revocation of membership status. Membership reinstatement requires payment of dues and new member initiation fee.
- An invited flyer may fly up to four (4) times as the Guest of a PoBoys PropTwisters Club Member. After four (4) visits the guest must present himself or herself at a regular club meeting as a candidate for club membership or make other arrangements for future flying. The Host member must be present with his guest at all visits. The Host shall confirm current AMA membership by reviewing the guest’s AMA card or other proof of AMA coverage prior to the first flight. The Host will be further responsible to inform the guest of the frequency control system, the club rules as posted on the shed and the "No Fly" zones. Hosts should inform their guest of any safety rules violations during the flying session.
- Club Officers:
- President – will preside over quarterly meetings, called meetings, and fill officer vacancies by appointment from the club roster. The President will not vote except in the case of a tie.
- Vice-President – will serve in the absence of the President.
- Secretary - is the liaison between the Club and A.M.A. governing body, keeps minutes of all meetings and maintains a roster of club members.
- Treasurer – receives all monies associated with the club. Furnishes quarterly statement. Provides the Secretary with a list of paid members in a timely manner.
- Safety Officer – Verifies proper adherence to AMA safety regulations by all club members. Reviews changes in safety regulation and present such changes at the quarterly club meeting.
- Election of Officers:
- Election of Club Officers will be at the regular Club meeting in January and will be by a majority vote of members present and voting.
- To promote leadership roles within the club, membership dues are paid for each club officer from the general club fund for the membership year served by each officer.
- Safety Rules and Regulations:
- A.M.A. Safety Code and all posted Field Rules must be adhered to in all instances.
- All Club members are in effect "Safety Officers" and will assist in eliminating unsafe conditions.
- Each member will be responsible for any damage he/she may cause. Any damages caused by a minor member will be the responsibility of the minor member’s parent(s) or guardian. The group will not be jointly responsible for any damages caused by an individual(s) of this group.
- A special meeting of the Club may be called by any member of the Executive Committee and at least three (3) executive members must be present.
- No flights shall occur before 1PM Sunday through Friday, and 10AM on Saturday.
- Members must obtain a frequency pin corresponding to their transmitter channel, and insert their AMA card in place of the pin. Only one pin may be held at any time by a flying member. Frequency pins must be returned by the end of the day.
